This week has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Honestly, most weeks are for me! Monday started out a little slow as I was coming off of a full weekend of events. Seeing this Free People Bardot Sweater arrive on Monday was definitely a high point, which is saying something. Here’s a quick recap on my weekend before we get into my current obsessions this week.
On Friday my sister and I headed to Omaha for an appointment Trillion Health and Hormone to have our blood work done for a full hormone workup. I will have more on this topic once I have my results back and know all of the details!
Saturday, Michael and I were spectators/cheerleaders at a Beer Olympics event hosted by his sister. I say spectators because I am way too old to be participating in drinking games! Then after that, we went to a friends lake cabin for an evening on the boat! It was a lot of fun, but we were both wiped out Sunday morning.
On Sunday we had planned to go into town to watch the annual parade that they do for the fair and then come home. Well that turned into drinks with friends at the brewery and a later night than we had planned. All very fun things that made for an extremely slow start to the week.
After a solid night’s sleep on Monday, I was a whole new person come Tuesday morning. This week has flown by per usual, but here are a few of my current obsessions from this week.
This Week’s Obsessions
Free People Bardot Sweater
I originally came across this sweater on a blog called Itsy Bitsy Indulgences. Shannon was wearing this Free People sweater (alternate colors of this sweater on super sale at Macy’s!) two ways, one with linen shorts and the other with white pants.
Wearing Free People can be tricky because everything is oversized and can look too boxy on certain body types. But I decided to go for it anyway and I’m glad I did. The Free People Bardot Sweater is oversized and waist length featuring loose arms. These elements make it the perfect sweater to throw on for a casual, cool summer evening with friends or while relaxing at home.
I definitely recommend sizing down. I normally wear a size large in sweaters and I’m wearing a medium here.

Danielle Bernstein Bodysuit Tee
I’ve been following WeWoreWhat on Instagram for years! Love or hate her, Danielle has built an empire from her street style blog and her work ethic is one that I greatly admire. So when she launched a collection with Macy’s this year I was excited to check it out. In her first collection, she created a t-shirt bodysuit that sold out within minutes of launching. I was bummed I missed it, so when Macy’s restocked it for her second collection I knew I had to get it. And it did not disappoint! This is my first ever bodysuit since I was in the 3rd grade. They’re just not my thing. Take that as a sign that this bodysuit is worth it!
Are you looking for a new pair of sandals? I broke down my favorite sandals of 2020!
RomCom Pods
I’ve been listening to the Bad on Paper podcast for a while now. It’s a podcast where two friends, Grace & Becca, discuss books they’ve read, as well as life in general. So earlier this year when Becca announced that she was creating a scripted podcast called RomCom Pods with another friend, I was intrigued.
I had never listened to a scripted podcast before, but this one was set between Chicago and Italy so I knew I would enjoy the travel aspect of it. You guys, it was so good! Mind you, I have nothing to compare it to but it’s still really good! I definitely recommend checking it out. Season 2 is dropping in October.
Atomic Habits
I’ve talked about the Atomic Habits book before on this blog. During my morning walks I have been re-listening to the audio version of the book because it helps inspire me when I’m feeling like I’m not getting enough done. This will always be one of my top recommendations for anybody wanting to take their personal or career life to the next level!
ChrisLovesJulia
I’m not sure how I came across the instagram handle @chrislovejulia but I have been obsessed with it this week! Chris & Julia are fixing up their massive home and I could not love it more. I feel like a proud friend every time they reveal something new, even though I don’t know these people at all! You can check out all of their home renovations on their instagram and their blog. Be prepared to be sucked in for hours at a time!
Liketoknow.it
This one is a personal milestone for me in my blogging journey. A few years ago I had applied to an affiliate program for bloggers called Liketoknow.it. If you follow a lot of style bloggers on instagram then you know what this is. Pretty much, it’s just a way for bloggers to show you products that they’re wearing while receiving a commission if you choose to purchase said item.
Well this week I was accepted into their program!! Let’s just gloss over the fact that after I was accepted I had heard that they were accepting a ton of new bloggers that week and pretend I have just been knocking my content out of the park!
It would mean a lot to me if you would support me over on that platform too! All you need to do is follow me on the Liketoknow.it app. Just download the app and follow me at Culley Avenue
Here is a full breakdown on how to use the Liketoknow.it app.
